My latest toy

It’s rumoured to be pretty good. The first novel by Stef Penny and already a winner. I guess this is a must read. I’ll start eating this the moment I finish my current story The Long Road To Merdeka which I’m already at page 102 out of 277.
How much does this book cost? Well, there are 3 prices to it actually. The book itself cost RM37.50 (at least at Popular Book Shop) but if you’re a Popular card member or you know the boss of whichever book store from where you’re buying the book from you’ll get a 10% discount or something like that.
However, the book is FREE if you can actually manage to sprint out of the book store before they are even able to mount a proper and appropriate response. Please do note that I’m not endorsing the use of this method and if you end up doing it please don’t ever say you learnt how to it in The Lion’s PawPrints (ha ha).
Monday In The Cinema

The first Thai movie I’ve ever watched on a big screen, Fury (Mangkorn Sau in Thai) has all trappings of an A-grade story. I saw it today at Taiping Sentral and boy, was it fantastic. Telling the story of Zen (played out by the pretty -Thai girls are pretty okay?- and absolutely talented Yanin Vismitanada) an austistic girl who has a talent for martial arts who avenges her Mum, Zin and to a lesser extent her Dad who are persecuted at the hands of a gangster (who is actually her Mum’s -played by Ammara Siripong, a molten hot chick by the way- former lover).
And to make things more interesting there’s an ah kua (Candy I think) who carries guns and actually has an hit squad full of fellow ah kua’s. Oh boy, that was good. A real pity that there was no Boris-style (from my very own story Suleiman The Lion : The Tiger Trail) rocket launcher scene in the story.
Anyway, back to the story, the fighting scenes are first rate and what more our Miss Vismitanada actually did them all herself and at the end of the story while the credits are rolling, you can actually catch shots of the injuries that the actors suffered during the production. To be honest, I really respect them, all of them. One of them even suffered a neck injury during the process and Yanin got injured too.
Personally, I give this story a score of 9.30 / 10.00.
My recommendation, get to the nearest cinema and watch it. You won’t be disappointed. However, the running time is a bit short at 90 minutes though. Anyhow, a great movie and I will be first in line to get the DVD when it’s available here.
