To write or not to write?

A research into the Ancients leads a Malaysian-led Asian expedition to a forgotten outpost  in the Andromeda Galaxy. With new worlds to explore and new races to meet, the expedition also encounters an enemy that was forgotten with the city over 15 000 years ago. The dark secrets of Ancients, a new enemy and more new allies await.

Hmm..should I write this? I’ve always been critisizing SGA’s writing so is this the time to show what I can really write? And couple that with thefact that I have already enough on my plate?

Hmmm..decisions, decisions.

The Princess

As the wind blows, your face comes to my mind,

Your delicate beauty, your flawlessness,

You’re the one I call the Princess,

Whose very presence lights up my soul,

I give myself to you, your wish being my command.

Looking up at the shining moon,

I long for the day to be with you once more,

Split by a huge ocean, the waters between us isn’t enough to contain all my emotions,

My longing, my loneliness,

My Princess, I would trade the world for you,

And leave nothing behind,

For you are all that I will ever need,

To live life itself,

As for as long as you are never beside me,

A part of me will cease to be,

Your absence drives me mad,

Your presence drives me to ecstasy,

The world may turn to dust,

The mountains may fall to the ground,

Poem From My Upcoming Story The Last Princess Of China. [Expected Release : 2015 ]

The New Decade

Yeah, as you all know, it’s a whole new decade for us that use the Hijri ( Islamic ) calendar. The 1430s are here! Here’s my plan for the whole decade : )

• Suleiman The Lion : Write the entire series of Suleiman The Lion, beginning with The Tiger Trail followed by Paw Prints In The Far East ( alternate name : The Wolf King ) and finally the finale currently titled Trapped In The Amazon along with the Suleiman The Lion II spin-off story Timur : King Of  The World
• The Last Princess Of China : All it takes is inspiration. A story which I have already begun to research about, The Last Princess Of China will be a love story ( itself interesting since I’m not exactly enamored  in love stories ) which will be written in a pretty interesting alternate reality format. This story needs a whole lot of research as the story has pretty much zeroed in on specific years (1397 and 1398). One line from the story that I keep repeating in my head is the line that Timur (yeah, Timur/Tamerlane, he also appears in this story) says : “Your world falls at her feet”.
• Get my PhD : You’re all gonna be calling me Dr. Darus before this decade is out! Get used to it!
• Get Stargate : Atlantis running again : One of the most wasted sci-fi stories ever, SGA is always let down by bad writing and shoddy CGI despite having great plots, wonderfully designed props and fantastic characters (except for Keller). I’m one of the millions of fans out there rooting for it to get back up and running.
• Run For Elected Office : Okay, so this might be a long-shot,since I have all the other things I’m up to. But hey, I am going to eventually end up as the Prime Minister of Malaysia, so I got to start somewhere right?
• Become a Civil Defense Officer : That’ll be Tuan Darus to you : ) After working my butt off saving people dead in the middle of the night, not to mention also overclocking my brains and probably frying some of my circuits (don’t worry, I’m still sane) doing my engineering stuff, I won’t settle for anything less than a rock (or paku or whatever funny name you can think of ) on each of my shoulders.
• Get married : Okay, this sounds a little bit to ordinary. Get married? Biasa sangat la! Maybe I should up the ante. How about getting married to four women from four different countries? Hmm..maybe I should just say that I have a death wish. But then again, we’re all gonna die anyway = )

At this point, I can’t think of anything else right now as my brain is full of stuff, so watch me people!! Whee!

It’s A Whole New Year

Depending on who you talk to, you’re either celebrating the Islamic (Hijri) New Year of 1430H or the Gregorian year of 2009. This is a year that comes every 30-31 years where the Gregorian and Hijri calendars overlap for their New Year dates.

I’m for one prefer to celebrate the coming of 1430H (not only a new year but a whole new decade at that) as it has more significance for me as a Muslim as compared to January 1st which basically means nothing to me. But that doesn’t really stop me from joining in with anyone who is celebrating the dawn of 2009 anyway. Nothing wrong with that.

Anyway, a new decade has come (for you slow ones out there, I’m talking about the Hijri calendar) and a lot of things have to be done. Now I’m not one for making New Year resolutions but each coming new year gives us all the the inspiration to have new azam (ambitions).

This year will be very exciting for me as several new new things are coming together at once. I’m not going to reveal them now but I think some of them will be visible for people to see even without me saying anything.  And as usual, out with the trash (my “friends” who are better off in a dumpster). I seem like I’m forever throwing away friends but seriously people, you’re better off without people you can very well do without. Good friends are a treasure while bad friends will either give you hell or take you there.

I hope it will be a fantastic year for all for you too.  Bring it on = )
