Firstly, no, I you’re not dreaming. Secondly, no, I didn’t doctor the pictures. Thirdly, yes, those events actually did happen.

Actually many other things did happen. Many, many, many other things that would make any sane and rational-minded Malaysian cringe in shame. But the icing on the cake – so to speak – was the enterance of  plainclothes policemen into the State Legislative Assembly and dragged the Speaker out by force, something that seemingly reeks of events that one would usually believe only occurs in dead-in-the-ground countries in a continent call Africa.

Actually, I think I’m being generous. I think even Sani Abacha, Mobutu Sese Seko, Idi Amin and Robert Mugabe would actually look at us in awe at the way everybody ”official” handled the Perak State Legislative Assembly today. Hey, we’ve always said ”Malaysia Boleh” right? Well, looks like we really “Boleh”.

Everything that happened today in the House was wrong. The swearing in of a new Speaker (using procedures that are clearly illegal by the way), the refusal of the Seargent-At-Arms to abide by the Speakers orders, the refusal of entry to people invited by the Speaker and the ultimate, the forceful eviction of the Speaker by people not authorised to enter has shown that the Barisan Nasional will use whatever means to not only get to power, but to cling on to power as well.

This is a huge disgrace to our country and it has shown that something is fundementally wrong with the way this country is being run. The fact that these events could actually happen alone shows to us that our new Prime Minister Najib Tun Abdul Razak is in no way a great reformer and he would like to think himself to be.

Instead, he is leading us to destruction and pariah-ism.  Todays event has told us one thing : We’re finished, we’re doomed. Unless we do something about it, it’s game over for Malaysia.
